Rivertime Lodge is nestled on an idyllic spot on the Whanganui riverbank and in the hub of hill country farming.

A spacious lounge opens onto a deck overlooking the river with a unique outdoor dining platform among the trees. The kitchen is well equipped for self-catering.There are two bedrooms, one queen and one with 2 single beds.It has a modern bathroom and a laundry .Extra guests can be accommodated in a cabin adjacent to the Lodge and we are currently building 2 cabins complete with private bathrooms which will be ready for November 2017.

Tea,coffee ,sugar ,and milk are provided .You can bring your own food supplies or you may request at time of booking if you would like to have meals supplied. We will leave fresh local produce and semi prepared dishes for you to cook a meal at your leisure. There is  a  gas barbaque for your use so that you can cook and dine on the platform amongst the trees.

On a warm Summer evening our guests can  enjoy a walk along the riverbank to the Tauterata shingle bank ( it’s also a great swimming spot ) or cosy up inside the cottage and listen to our collection of old time records or take time to read a book.

Rivertime is a perfect place to kick back, listen to the birdsong, watch the stars at night, and savour the simple pleasures of being away from the rest of the world, surrounded by nature

If you are arriving by river look for the sign on the left  past  the Tauterata Shingle bank. It is a short walk across the flat and up the bush garden track to Rivertime. For those cycling the Mountain to Sea trail we are an approximate 4 hr cycle from Pipiriki .You can spend your final night at Rivertime and have a relaxed ride to Whanganui North Mole the next day, with plenty of time to explore the beautiful city of Whanganui.
